Do not discard-instead, chop the stems off completely and arrange the flowers in a glass by simply dropping them in. spray a little rose-scented water ( you can use lavender, jasmine or any other fragrance) and place it near your bedside table for a wafting allure. Fill the base with a little water if required. Works well for candlelight dinners too.
